I Love this land Australia of gum and diversity
cathedral square
BETWEEN THE OCEAN AND THE SKY
THE GUM TREE
I come from a land across the sea far away
But yearned to stand beneath your shade
Your branches drew me in a motherly embrace
Allowing me to call this great land, my place
Your roots are buried in this red ground
Where history is seeped all around
Your dull greyish green leaves that whisper in the wind
Tell stories of this land that forever draw me in
Where the scent of the Eucalyptus renews life
And ahh I can sleep in peace tonight
Where one and all are treated the same, and given a fair go
I am part of this vast land now, it is where I call home.
CATHEDRAL SQUARE
From the silence of the night, the city awakens
The morning light softly forming shadows at its feet
Spiriting an ambience of charm and delight
The fine tall spire stretches to meet the first glow
Reflecting sweet fond memories of a time long ago
The new day begins to paint the square with warmth,
eager to welcome wanderers into its embrace
From across the quad, the house of books stands tall
Curious minds invited one and all to marvel
at the beauty they call, the Cathedral Square
BETWEEN THE OCEAN AND THE SKY
Yellow meets Cyan as the ocean laps lovingly at the shore
Blue the sky wisps down and joins in the embrace
Like old friends meeting up after a long absence
They frolic and play blissfully in the morn of the day
The hues of Blue, Yellow and Cyan flirt mischievously till twilight breaks
Then regretfully must bid each other a good night!
Till tomorrow Blue……Till tomorrow Yellow…….Till tomorrow Cyan……
